Alice M. I was midway through the latest Sigur Rós album when I remembered that I needed to try this out. Funnily enough, the transition was way more smooth than I thought it'd be – like diving beneath the surface of a dark, still lake and suddenly hearing things through a gloomy, eerie prism.
If I'm not mistaken this is from the guy who had already released one of my favourite albums of the first half of 2023, under the Рожь moniker. Favorite track: Shichi.

about

Some things come easily, and some through pain and grit.
Dokkyoshi is a Japanese term that denotes such a well-known phenomenon as the death of a lone person. If this occurs, the body of a deceased may remain for weeks, months, or years in own home before being found.

Occasionally I witness this phenomenon among the living, and sometimes I feel that it is happening to me here and now.

In these compositions, the sound decays and shimmers with the smoldering murmur of near-death revelations and innermost experiences, it leaves its outlines imprinted on the tatami of consciousness. This is both terrible while also being poetic and profound. Sometimes it expands beyond fear, understanding, morality and common sense.
This music is taxing. One of my views on existence seeps through it.

Much gratitude to my fellow traveler nihil for his haunting cello.

Thank you for still being with me.
